Agia Ierousalim Beach
Agia Ierousalim offers two contrasting beach experiences. One side features calm, shallow waters ideal for families, while the other part offers a wilder, more rugged scenery for those who prefer a touch of adventure. It's quiet ambiance and natural surroundings make it a great spot to spend the whole day.
Alaties Beach
Alaties, or "Salt Beach," is a small rocky cove known for its natural salt pools. Its intimate size and crystal-clear waters make it perfect for a peaceful swim. Afterwards, treat yourself to a meal and some local wine at the nearby taverna, where you can savour traditional dishes against sea views.
Dafnoudi Beach
This unspoiled paradise is a hidden treasure, reachable only by a 15-minute walk through a shaded cypress forest. The beach’s secluded charm, combined with its azure waters, makes it a magical experience. Keep an eye out for monk seals, as this is one of their preferred resting spots.
Kimilia Beach
Accessed by a scenic forest trail, Kimilia Beach is a quiet haven surrounded by untouched nature. Its pebbled shores and clear waters are a snorkeler’s dream. The short walk to get there adds a sense of adventure and rewards you with the serenity of this secluded spot.
Emplisi Beach
A stunning beach framed by smooth white rocks and lush greenery, Emplisi is a must-visit. Zavalata Beach

Foki Beach
Tucked away in a peaceful cove and shaded by ancient olive trees, Foki Beach is a favourite for serenity seekers. Its calm, crystal-clear waters are perfect for swimming, while the surrounding rocky outcrops are great for snorkelling. Pack a picnic, or enjoy a leisurely meal at the traditional taverna just steps from the shore.
Agia Efimia Village
This small, tranquil village offers a serene coastal experience with lovely cafes and seafood tavernas by the water. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and soak up the laid-back Kefalonian atmosphere.
Kothreas Village
Only a short distance from Katsarata, Kothreas is a charming village that lets you step back in time. This quiet village, with its traditional stone houses and narrow winding streets, is perfect for those seeking serenity and peace. Surrounded by lush nature, it’s the perfect place to unwind and experience a quiet respite from the busier tourist areas.
Mount Ainos
For adventure seekers, a visit to Mount Ainos is a must. The highest peak on the island, Ainos offers fantastic hiking opportunities through lush pine forests and stunning views from the summit. If you’re lucky, you might even spot wild horses grazing along the slopes.
Assos Village and Castle
Just a short drive from Katsarata, Assos Village is quaint and photogenic. Perched on a peninsula, the village is home to a Venetian castle offering panoramic views of the Ionian Sea. The cobbled streets, pastel-coloured houses, and small, quiet beaches make it a perfect spot for a peaceful day trip.
Drogarati Cave
A short drive from Sami, Drogarati Cave is one of Kefalonia’s natural wonders. Known for its impressive stalactites and stalagmites, the cave is a striking sight, with guided tours taking visitors through its cool, dimly lit chambers. The acoustics within the cave are exceptional, often used for small musical performances, adding a unique element to this underground experience.
Melissani Cave
One of the island’s most enchanting natural wonders, Melissani Cave features an underground lake with waters that shimmer in shades of turquoise. You can explore the cave by boat, and as your guide rows you deeper inside, the sunlight filtering through the open roof creates a magical glow. Argostoli

Myrtos Beach

The two-kilometre stretch of white pebbles and crystal-clear turquoise waters offers spectacular views that seem straight out of a postcard. Whether you're lounging on the sunbeds or taking a refreshing swim in the sea, the beach’s beauty is bound to leave a lasting impression.
Tip: To avoid the crowds, head to Myrtos early in the morning or later in the evening when the light casts magical hues on the water and the beach is much quieter.
Fiscardo
On the northern tip of Kefalonia, Fiskardo is one of the island’s most enchanting spots – a delightful blend of natural beauty, rich history, and old-world charm. Unlike most other villages on the island, Fiskardo was spared from the devastating earthquake of 1953, which means it retains much of its traditional Venetian architecture. With its pastel-coloured buildings, cobblestone streets, and charming harbour, Fiscardo offers visitors a rare glimpse into the past. This is a famed stop for yachts cruising through the Ionian Sea, and you’ll often see a variety of luxury vessels bobbing gently in the crystal-clear waters. Despite its popularity, Fiskardo largely retains its peaceful atmosphere, thanks to its size and subtle charm. The waterfront is lined with cafés, tavernas, and chic restaurants where you can enjoy a leisurely seafood feast. There are also boutiques to shop for handmade crafts.
Just a short walk or boat ride from the village, Fiskardo is home to some of Kefalonia’s most secluded, serene and that’s not to mention spectacular, beaches. These quiet coves, often accessible only by foot or boat, offer an idyllic spot to relax in the sun, swim in the sparkling blue waters, and enjoy the peace and quiet away from the busier tourist areas.
